About

Systems, Stories, and Structure

Hi, I’m Taya (pronounced Tay-uh). I’m a Pacific Northwest native who works at the intersection of operations, communication, and performance. Whether I am designing an internal intranet, navigating a complex theatrical character, or balancing game mechanics, my work is driven by a single goal: bringing order to information so it can be trusted, used, and experienced.

The Professional Lens

My background spans technical documentation, marketing operations, and high-stakes environments like engineering and healthcare. I optimize for clarity over cleverness and systems over heroics. I specialize in the “borive but critical” work—proposal workflows, quality assurance, and information design—that keeps organizations functional and credible. I’m at my best when expectations, ownership, and documentation are explicit rather than implied.

The Theatrical Lens

Parallel to my operational work, I am a stage actor and “advanced mover” with a lifelong technical foundation in dance and vocals. I hit my professional stride at Ferndale Repertory Theatre, where I’ve learned that a successful production is its own complex system.

From the dramatic vulnerability of leading roles like Mrs. Kendal in The Elephant Man to the high-energy, physical precision of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, I bring the same “workhorse” mentality to the stage that I bring to the office. I am an actor who values the discipline of the ensemble and the structural integrity of a performance.

The Experimental Lens

Currently, I am co-creating an original card game—a project that serves as the ultimate playground for my interest in interlocking systems. It requires the logic of a designer, the precision of a technical writer, and the engagement of a storyteller.

What I Do Well

  • Operational & Artistic Clarity: Owning process life cycles and character arcs with an emphasis on consistency, reliability, and “hitting the mark.”
  • Technical Communication: Writing and editing where accuracy is non-negotiable—whether it’s a client-facing proposal or a rehearsal script.
  • Information & Experience Design: Building websites, intranets, and game mechanics that reduce friction and cognitive load.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Acting as the connective layer between leadership, technical staff, and creative teams.

Where This Work Fits Best

I thrive in environments that value clear documentation, strong internal systems, and a professional who can bridge technical, administrative, and creative domains. I’m drawn to projects that involve building, refining, and maintaining systems—digital, physical, or theatrical—over time.
